Olumide Ohunayo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics & Demography, Post Graduate Diploma in Manpower Economics, and a Master of Science Degree in Transport Studies and has been in the aviation industry since 1993 when he joined the operations department of Nigeria Airways Limited. He later moved to the marketing department where he subsequently headed the National Stadium Sales Office of the airline improving the sales volumes and coordinating travels for the different sporting associations representing Nigeria.
His flair for the industry took him to Capital Airlines as the Head of Marketing and Sales with the mandate to negotiate routes with different state governments and increase charter flight revenue which was a challenge. That challenge brought Benue, Edo, Adamawa, and Taraba state government flights to the airline; he was later transferred to Santo Air the core investor of capital Airlines as Head of Admin and Public Relations.
Thereafter he joined Absolute Security and Consultancy Service as the Programmes Director with an emphasis on liaising with Senate and House Committees and organizing safety and security seminars which took him around the federation.
Currently a non-executive board member of Zenith Travel and Consult while also functioning as the Head of Corporate Travel and Government Relations, he is also serving as an Executive Director in Bim-Marire Nigeria limited a general merchandise company registered with the CAC.
Olumide is the General Secretary of the Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ART) the foremost aviation NGO in Nigeria that propagates safety and efficiency in the industry. He previously served the body as publicity secretary and is the immediate past Assistant General Secretary.
He is also the Founder and Chief Administrator of the award-winning Aviation Policy & Strategy forum, a social media outlet that discusses issues around commercial and civil aviation
On the professional front, Olumide is an IATA scholar with certification in the Airline Management Integration Programme and other certificates such as ICAO: Flight Safety &Aircraft Operations, BOEING: Flight Operations, and Ministry of Aviation: Safety Oversight.
